Our Impact Planet

Our Planet

More than just a market

It’s time to turn the tide. We are committed to ensuring our planet is nurtured and taken care of for future generations to come. This means implementing positive and sustainable practices beyond being a marketplace for the community.

We do this in ways big and small.

We are a 100%
single-use plastic-free and
waste-free event.

All vendors are required to avoid single-use plastic, by providing recyclable and compostable alternatives. We encourage stallholders to also reduce their packaging and promotional material. Our markets produce minimal waste and it is either recycled, repurposed or composted.

BYO or borrow from
our Mug Library

We promote and educate people on living more lightly. Another key initiative in line with our goals of reducing the impact of single-use plastic is our Mug Library, where mugs and eating utensils are available to the public to borrow. Once used, the Surfrider Foundation crew will wash your mugs at the sanitised washing station. Get amongst it, BYO mug & save a turtle.

Get amongs it, BYO mug & save a turtle.

We are offsetting our emissions
with Carbon Positive Australia.

Carbon Positive Australia is an Australian charity that has been restoring degraded lands through ecologically sensitive planting for the last 20 years. To date they have restored over 5,000 hectares, planted over 6 million trees and captured 668,799 tonnes of carbon.

They encourage everyone to make climate-healthy choices that go beyond being ‘carbon neutral. So come car free and ride, walk, skate or catch a wave down.

Responsible production

We also believe you should be able to consume guilt-free, safe in the knowledge that products and services were created with love for people & planet.

Each and every stall holder application is given the time it deserves and is assessed through a thorough screening process to ensure all responsible production terms are met.

Join our beach clean ups!

The awesome volunteers at Coastal Clean Up Crew are cleaning Trigg Beach once a month to help keep our coastline litter free. Grab a bucket and gloves from the Coastal Clean Up Crew tent at the markets and head on down to keep the sea plastic free!
