We’re giving one lucky start-up the ultimate boost to launch their product or business with us at Summer X Salt Markets! As the go-to destination for surf and salty lifestyle stalls, we’re passionate about supporting entrepreneurs, makers, and creatives who are ready to make waves and create a better world.
What we offer
Each year, we select one WA-based start-up founder or entrepreneur who has launched within the last 12 months. This is your chance to showcase and test your idea in front of our vibrant coastal community.
What we're looking for
We’re on the hunt for start-ups that are making a difference – whether through creativity, innovation, sustainability, or addressing social and environmental issues. If your venture is about doing good and inspiring others, we want to hear from you!
The Salty Start Up Package

Made For It Wetsuits
Congratulations to Laura from Made For It Wetsuits, our 2022 Salty Start Up Grant recipient! Laura is making waves with her ocean-friendly wetsuits designed with sustainability and comfort in mind. Using sustainably sourced limestone neoprene and non-toxic dyes, she’s crafted durable, long-lasting wetsuits that offer 30% more warmth than regular neoprene.
Each piece is made to order and supports local charities – a true testament to her commitment to the environment and community.

Sunslayer
Jade from Sunslayer launched her ocean-friendly sunscreen collection, making a big splash with her innovative, reef-safe, plastic-free SPF 50 sunscreen. After two years of dedicated research, she developed a formula free from harmful chemicals like oxybenzone and octinoxate, protecting both your skin and our marine ecosystems. Sunslayer’s launch at the Summer X Salt Markets was a huge success, helping raise awareness about the importance of sun safety and ocean conservation. Jade’s commitment to a healthier planet truly shines through her incredible product!
2020
Recycled Towel Hoodies
Recycled Towel Hoodies is an innovative project aimed at raising awareness about textile waste and pollution, particularly on our beaches. After completing the Earth Carers waste education course, Mabinte combined her background as a costume designer in Europe with her newfound beach lifestyle in Perth. The result? Unique hoodies crafted from recycled second-hand towels, creatively repurposing materials that would otherwise end up in landfill, and helping to reduce textile waste one hoodie at a time.
